I’m currently an Innovation Intern at the City of Sugar Land - Department of Innovation working closely with Sugar Land Animal Services to bring more awareness to their facility, adoptable animals, and services. This opportunity was presented through an Innovation Principles class as part of our final project. In the same class, I was able to earn a Blue Belt Certification in Innovation Engineering and got to pitch a potential solution to the animal shelter’s visibility challenge. At the beginning of my internship, I was able to create a marketing campaign in addition to my initial pop-up event pitch. In correspondence to the Innovation Department and Animal Services, we hope this turns into a series of events that the animal shelter would host as a means to increase shelter awareness and adoption rates.
